Q1 2026 President’s Message
COMTO Connecticut’s newsletter has a new look for 2026 as well as exciting news about the Chapter!
First of all, the Chapter is preparing for our election of a new Executive Board for the 2026-2028 term, and COMTO CT members are encouraged to step into leadership roles to further our vision and mission for representation in transportation in Connecticut.
In addition, with proceeds from our successful gala in November 2025, we will be awarding the most funding in scholarships in our Chapter’s history! So, spread the word as we continue to empower our talented future transportation leaders. March is Women’s History Month, and we are spotlighting one of our Chapter Leaders.
On a personal level, it was a privilege to participate in the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Diversity Council’s “African American Leaders in Connecticut State Service” Black History Month’s panel discussion with two dynamic leaders in February, moderated by COMTO Connecticut’s own Kafi Rouse, CTDOT’s Head of Strategy for Culture, Engagement and Inclusive Communications. An article about this Lunch and Learn event is featured in this newsletter.
Enjoy our Chapter newsletter and keep a look out for future COMTO Connecticut News!
